January 1980
Just a boy and a girl who shared a dream
The love for old homes, beautiful landscapes, and bringing people together began long before Bloom Events became a reality. Carey and Ellen Christenson met in Logan, Utah, in 1980, where they fell in love, got married, and started their family. They often drove down a charming street lined with historic homes, dreaming of the day they would find the perfect one to restore and make their own.
August 1983
The real work begins…
Three years later, that dream became a reality when they moved to American Fork and purchased a humble 1906 pioneer home—weathered and worn, but filled with potential. With time, dedication, and a vision, they began the process of bringing the house and its gardens back to life.
June 2003
Team work makes the dream work
The very first event held in their backyard was their oldest daughter’s wedding. That special day sparked a passion in Ellen that only grew stronger over the years. She later volunteered as an event planner for a nonprofit, discovering not just a talent but a deep love for curating meaningful celebrations. Meanwhile, with a degree in landscape architecture, Carey started a landscape company and used his artistry and skills to continue to beautify their home and yard.
June 2003 - Present
Growing gardens, growing families
As their home and gardens flourished, so did their family. With five children who have since married and brought grandchildren into their lives, their love for gathering and celebrating has only grown. Over the years, they have hosted and planned countless weddings and events, pouring their hearts into making each one as unique and memorable as the individuals who celebrated them.

Their sons and sons-in-law have played an equally vital role, building structures like the Hobbit Hen House and the She-Shed, designing the website and brand, and working the grounds to keep everything running smoothly.
